Applying for Starbucks

Fri Oct 30, 2009, 12:06 PM
I need to get some cash together to beef up the PC -- Running Photoshop is a chore and I can't run MAYA, and that's a problem. So I need to gather some cash to afford the necessary changes, and since I've already tried advertising commissions here to no avail on a few occasions now, there's no point me trying again.

The local Starbucks is hiring though and I'm filling out the application, so that'll be fun. I'm in there so often I (and my friends who are also applying) will be surprised if I'm just brushed off. ;) I mean I'm on first-name basis with half the staff, to the point where it's either my name, "the girl who does the drawings," or "grande caramel americano." :P

I'm at least not at the "I might not eat next week" stage anymore (that was 2 weeks ago), which is never nice.

"I might not eat next week" is everyone's favourite stage.

Yeah, Maya's buggy as hell so you're gonna want some serious horsepower to compensate.

Oh, I'd bet you'd love to ground cow. BUT YOU CAN'T AND NEVER WILL.

Why.

Unfortunately the very notion of 'kids' being the problem. :P

I'd be kinda concerned what kinda money's growing. Notes? Coppers? Silver pieces? Gold? Is it proper printed stuff, or would tree money follow its own monetary system? What would the exchange rate be on tree money? Would that help or heal the economy? If it was a proper sized tree wouldn't it be victim to major theft? Like people can reach over the fence and pluck some of your savings? Or do we get little money bansais, or would they be worth less? Houses full of money bansais! THE MADNESS!!

So many questions...
:iconsatsy:
I've done a job like it before, and it's not too bad, really. Or at least it wasn't then, when I was actually capable of staying on my feet for hours at a time (and even that's dubious, IIRC)... ^^;

Having a life-long disability might hinder my ability to keep up, so this really will be interesting. ;)

Lucky I've got people who can help me select the best stuff. Now it's just affording it. ;P

also would there be a sudden windfall in autumn followed by a long period of recession every winter?
oh, and if it were a money coin tree you would probably have to avoid low growing 'fruit'!
