congrats! why don't you take a boring job for a while, just to help with finances and in your spare time gather your options and build on something that you really want to do and when the time is right, go for it!

Hmm, well, I'm considering the "get a job to pass the time" aspect, but it's hard when most days at the moment I can barely move. Makes doing most anything hard. Slightly troublesome! But, I'll think of something.

Otherwise I'm setting up to build up a portfolio, so I can start applying for proper jobs while I can, and maybe see if I can get some sort of game demo to show off my weird weird imagination.

Something like that.

perhaps you can look at the whole 'work at home' jobs but I don't know how you would go about doing that
A portfolio is always a good idea, as long as it's nice and varied. Hope all goes well for you

It'll probably all be fine... when Skype works. Then I can make the necessary claims and not need to worry about working for a while. But we'll see.
